camaro horn loudness


i just put my rebuilt (from zip corvettes) camaro horns back on (67) and since i wasnt around to know what these car horns sounded like new, i have a question:

Are these old horns as loud as new car horns? mine just dont seem quite as loud...

can you guys help me?


1967 SS 396, M20.
now a 10.4:1 540, AFR 315 heads, UDHarold SR Cam with a Tremec TKO

I sent mine in to Gary at the Horn Works:

My horns are just as loud as any new car horn. I couldnt belive it when I got them back.

All my old cars horns (67 Firebird, 69 Firebird, 69 Camaro, 71 Nova) has louder horns than either my 85 F150 or my 2000 Grand Prix GTP if this tells you anything.
