door jam switch ?

I purchased a set of switches from Ricks, and I cant close the door, there to long. Please enlighten me on whats going on, Ricks does not have shorter ones. Is it that there not available for a 67 coupe. If anyone knows where I can get them I would appreciate it.

Thanks Rich

Re: door jam switch ?

Most of the door jam switches of the plunger type such as our cars use are self adjusting. They are too long when new, but when installed and the door is closed for the first time, the sleeve around the plunger slides back into the switch body to self adjust for the individual door gap.

Re: door jam switch ?

I went through the same thing recently. I too was spooked at the length of the switches. Just install it and give the door a good shove to close it. The switches will seat themselves and adjust to the correct length.
