electrical gremlins

68 camaro rs/ss. The right directional was staying lit on the dash. Changed the right front parking lamp bulb and it went out. Now the directional won't light up on the dash (right side). Left side is fine. All the external blinkers work as they should. Any ideas?

Re: electrical gremlins

for those who have struggled with this maybe this will help. I solved my problem by placing the socket bulb correctly on the printed circuit. The two grey sockets are the directional switch bulb holders, look closely there is a positive (larger) and negative (smaller) side. I tested the board with the meter then made sure to place the contacts in the right location and touching the circuitry. I apparently over turned them. That's one thing.
Next tip - the RS does not have the ground pig tail at the parking lamp. It's part of the wiring harness which grounds up in the engine bay (both sides) one by the battery and one by the regulator. The parking lamp must be bolted back to the body to complete ground. The entire assembly grounds to the body. They're in a tight spot, but I couldn't seem to get the parking lamp bulbs out without dropping the assembly. Anyway, thought maybe that might help someone out.
