Are alternators shielded??

Thanks to the help of the board I got all my wiring done. One last question..I have my 100 amp one wire alt fused wih a 125 amp blade type fuse at the battery. Right now my stainless braided fuel line runs behind the alternator (between the alt and the head) to the hard line. To change it would be a pain and some $$'s in new fittings. Anyway I have the fuel line wrapped in heat wrap for the heat and a rubber boot on the one wire connection to the alt. Can these things ARC or can the "Case become live?? I see lots of pictures of people with their fuel line routed that way but want to make sure it is safe.

Thanks again!!!!!

Chris

Re: Are alternators shielded??

The case is grounded by the bracketry and cannot become live.
The only "hot" point is the stud where the wire hooks up.
