Anyone have a diagram for the courtesy floor lamps in a vert?

My courtesy floor lamps in a vert have constant power to them. I bought the car and it had no bulbs in them. I tested with a light and they have power,go figure. I removed and disconnected the ground pins in both doors and still have power to them???? Anyone have a diagram of how these are wired? Maybe I have a bad wire thats grounding or something.

Thanks

Re: Anyone have a diagram for the courtesy floor lamps in a vert?

I'll look for a diagram, but don't think so. There is one in the assembly manual.
I have replaced mine and certainly can come up with some words that may help tho.

The courtesy light circuit is 2 wires, orange and white.
The orange wire comes off the clock / ctsy / lighter circuit, and it is hot all the time. Having power on the orange wire is normal!

The lights are switched on by the door switches grounding the white wire to complete the circuit.

The special harness for the vert's lower lights plugs into the dash harness just above the ebrake assembly, 2 wires, orange and white. The bulb sockets are part of this separate harness, as is the wire for the pass side door switch.

The wiring for the drivers side door switch is part of the dash harness, as is the wiring for the light at the back of the console if you have one.

On 68 & 69, there is also a key buzzer circuit tied into the driver side door switch. This switch has 2 small spade connectors, one for the white wire, the other for the key buzzer wire. There should be a plastic insulator (part of the switch) that separates the 2 wires.

Thanks that helps. Would you happen to have the bulb part number for them? I tested just by putting a test light on the center prong and not grounding it to the other to complete the circuit. They might work. It had no bulbs it it when I got it.
