guages

I have several guages that are currently working except for the lighting. Tach and two hood mount gauges won't light up and I can see why, the wire for that is hanging loose.
Well, I'm going to splice into the wires in question and then run them......

Where?
Is the parking light voltage on that fuse block under the dash by the E-brake pedal?

Re: guages

There is a spade connector on the fuseblock labelled LPS That's the one you want, just plug it in. If you prefer to splice into an existing wire that is closer look for a gray wire and tap into that.Yuo can find it either going into the console connector (automatic trans only) or going up to the light in the heater control.

This circuit (either way) will dim the guage lights when you turn the headlight switch.

Re: guages

Are the parking lights supposed to turn off when I turn on the headlights?
The parking lights come on when I go to the first detent with the switch. But then when I pull it all the way out, the headlights come on but the parking lights then go off.
