radio wires

I have 69 camaro that I'd like to put a cd player into and was wondering if someone could tell me what wires under the dash I need to use.there is no stereo in it now.I see a yellow wire and a black wire coming out of what looks like the main harness, and I have pink, white, grey, green and orange wires coming out of a smaller harness.any help would be awsome.thanks

Re: radio wires

Your pink wire is 12 volts when the ignition is on.
Orange is hot all the time
Gray is "dash Illumination" hot with the lights on and vary's when you twist the light switch

Those three would be useful in hooking up a radio

Green is for the backup lights.
Orange is the "low side" of the courtesy light circuit.

I just realized you've described a consold connector for an auto trans car. What do I win?
