Identify Turn Signal Lens Screw

What size and type of screw secures the front turn signal lens to the housing on a '69 Camaro? It will take three screws per lens.
My guess is a # 8 sheet metal screw with a Phillips head.

Thank you.

Re: Identify Turn Signal Lense Screw

They are actually a machine thread, with a relatively short (about 1/3 overall length) threaded area and a larger unthreaded "barrel" (the correct hardware terminology escapes me right now...), and a Phillips head. If you really need the thread size and pitch, I will dig mine out, but you won't find them at the hardware store.

If you have an 06 Rick's catalog, they are at the bottom left of page 146, item HW-14K, $6.95 for a set of six.

Re: Identify Turn Signal Lense Screw

Thank you Eric. I believe you are describing a 'shoulder screw'. The design would control the amount of force that is applied to the lense.
I'll add these to my shopping list from Rick's.
