98 z28 headlight issues

I have a 98 z28 convertable. The other night the headlights just cut out. The fog lights still work but the entire electrical system twitches about every 5 seconds when its dark out and the lights should be on. The tail lights work as well. The problem seemed to have fixed itself as the headlights worked the next night, but now they are on the fritz again. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: 98 z28 headlight issues

You've got an electrical short somewhere. It's going to be very difficult to trace it. Start by taking your tester and checking voltage on both sides of the headlight switch when it's "twitching".

Thanks. I think the problem is in the actual switch, I took it out but left the wires in it. When I held it while the "twitching" was happening I could feel some type of movement inside of it.
