Question Under dash harness w/ AC

Automatic floor shift with gauges and AC. The same harness for AC and non AC, so are all the plugs not pluged in to something. I have the one for the heater resistor, one yellow one orange and one LtBlu wire. And the one I guess for the heater switch, 2 brn 2oran one yel one Lblu. I called customer service, he said they all go somewhere. Where they just taped back origionally or do they go somewhere?

Re: Under dash harness w/ AC

The harness is the same, but it gets modified during it's trip down the assembly line. You will see the mod on page 229 (C60 E4 )in your AIM. It is also on page 415 ( U17 A2 ) of the AIM. Hope this helps

Re: Under dash harness w/ AC

Thanks amptech for pointing me in the right direction. Most of the info in U17 makes sence. I think the brown wire you are supposed to remove the terminal from connector is already doubled back and I pluged in. So it looks like to me you don't have to do any thing for it to work. but to be correct you remove the wires. Would this be the case. And has anyone cut their brand new $400 harness??

Curiosity is killing me, what customer service gave you that kind of answer?

Re: Under dash harness w/ AC

American auto wire, although he said the guy I really needed to talk to was out of the office, and if I had any more questions to call back. He also said most cars with gauges had AC because it was one of those package deals. I started to say something but I just didn't feel like it at the time.

Re: Under dash harness w/ AC

I had to modify a Z28 harness that is in my car now, to be used with the factory a/c that's in the car. I did NOT have to cut any wires. Re-read the AIM about 40 times ( that's how long it took for it to set in on me ) and it willl become so easy a child could do it. All I can say is " KEEP REREADING PAGE 419 " It'll come to you.
