02' V6 will run for only 3 seconds and dies

My 02' just up and died on me going down the road, it will restart and run but for only about 3 seconds and then dies again. Changed out the fuel filter, seems to be getting fuel ok. Any ideas.

They have an oil pressure switch that kills the fuel pump if oil pressure doesn't come up. Don't know where it is, but I bet that's whats wrong. It is comepletely separate from the sender that runs the guage.

Thanks for the input, you may have hit the nail on the head. The pressure gauge reads normal oil pressure, but there is a light coming on that says "no oil pressure" and then the motor dies. Now if I can just find the sending unit, I wander if it is fused?

Re: 02' V6 will run for only 3 seconds and dies

Older V6's (1993-ish) are in the same spot as old school small blocks; back deck of the block by the distributor. They run power through the switch that feeds the relay for the fuel pump. No oil pressure, no feed to the fuel pump, no run.....

called the parts house, they only list one oil pressure sending unit, I guess I will have to have a closer look this afternoon when I get home. Thanks for the input.
