Ground wire on sender???

I had pulled my gas tank to under coat my car. When I did I noticed the ground wire came of the sender unit. Where exactly I can't tell. Can I just solder it back anywhere on the sending unit or does it need to be in a certain spot?

Re: Ground wire on sender???

Theres a little nipple looking thing(brass) sticking up on the unit itself the wire(tan, brown) just snaps down onto it. The other black wire is the grnd and you can attach it to the tank strap part of the body- up and aft of the rear axle on either side.

Re: Ground wire on sender???

The wire is completly unattached. If I'm understanding you one end goes to the tank strap area but at what location does the other end attach to the sending unit?

Re: Ground wire on sender???

There's a 1/4" tang on the sender that the ground wire attaches to.
