camaro has no power but battery is fine

Hi I have a 69 camaro that won't get any power. I took the car out to burn most of the gas and go get some oil for my other car so stopped at pepboys. When I came back out and went to start like the everything got power but just died like in a second. Reminded me of like a power surge. I was wondering if you guys could help me figure like where to start to look for the problem. When I pull the knob out for the headlights the get no power, the dash has no power,no ignition, nothing has power other than the radio I tested the battery so I know its not that. Any help would really be appreciated.

Sounds like a fusible link might have given up.

Feather-light suspension, Konis just couldn't hold
I'm so glad I took a look inside your showroom doors

Re: camaro has no power but battery is fine

Like Bonzo said, check the wire going from the positive side of battery to the junction connector behind the battery on the radiator support.. There sometimes is a fusible link in it. Quick test would be to run another piece of wire from pos battery post to the junction block and see if your power comes back on. If ok, try wiggling wires on bulkhead under the brake master cylinder. Also check your main ground cable coming off your battery.

Also check the fusible link at the horn relay, it supplies all power to the dash area, see pic
