Custom Engine harness availability

I've read several archives on 1 wire, or 3 wire altenator conversions to eliminate external voltage regulator.
My stock harness is junk, (speaker wire spliced in & numerous wires fried or cut.)
Question is, is there a engine harness available that will plug into stock fuse box, but without the uneeded external regulater wiring?

Or, should I just go with a new stock harness & cut the wires off to the regulater? (I'm leaning this way.)

Battery is in the trunk, Moroso bulkhead fitting at the firewall being used.

Will be running electric fuel pump & electric fans at radiator, will have a 500 watt stereo. (at least)

And yes, I'm running proper size & type cable for battery.

Wiring is not my cup of tea.
Thanks

Re: Custom Engine harness availability

Hey Steve - there was a harness on ebay that wasn't as expensive as a finished factory style harness or a custom painless harness. It comes bare and with all the wires for a stock application. You install the connectors they supply and wrap it yourself. Sounds like it might be the way to go since you could spare out what you don't want to use...

I'll look for what I saw and link it if I can find it...

I think this is the one your looking for http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EZ-WI...rdZ1QQtcZphoto

It is a nice harness from what I read about it, but it does not bolt directly into the factory location as it is a universal harness.

Re: Custom Engine harness availability

Stevo -

Definitely give AAW a call or check out their site. I have their classic update kti for my 69, and it has the wiring for electric fuel pump, fans, engine computer, power seats, power windows, etc, in addition to all the factory circuits (okay, it didn't have the key minder buzzer ). All the wires are top quality (nice fat ones for things like the electric fuel pump and other high amp circuits), and their customer service and tech support are top notch. It's around $450 for the kit, but that is all new wiring front to rear.

Re: Custom Engine harness availability

I just sent AAW a request for what I need. Probably won't hear anything till next week.
I told them what I had, & what I need, so I'll see what they can do.

Thanks
