which wiring should i go with

Hi guys, i wanted to get your opinions on which wiring harness i should use. I want to eventually put an ls1 motor and tranny in my 67. But i need all new vehicle wiring first. My question is, i was going to use american autowire kit #500661 which includes all the original pigtail connectors for the taillights and so on. But since i have decided to go fuel injected motor i am wondering if it might be easier on the install later of the fuel inj. motor, if i get one of their update series of wiring harnesses. What do you guys think.

Re: which wiring should i go with

The nice thing about AAW's update kits (I have the 69 version) is that it does have the factory connectors for things like the lights, ignition, dash switches and gauges, etc. They also have the circuits for electric fuel pumps, engine computers, etc. Very nice kits, and great folks to deal with. Give them a call, and if you have tech questions you can ask for Ray, or general questions that you're not sure who to talk to, you can call Theresa

Yep, AAW is the way to go. Use them in all my cars. Never had a problem.

Whats aaw? any links.. Im also looking for a kit for a 68, since the one in it was spliced into alot and parts were missing I just figured it would be easier just to replace it.. and by factory connections ( Im not really auto oriented on termonolgy ) but for instance I was taking the rear brake lights out.. does this mean the harness has the connectors that the light bulbs go into or do such things need to be purchased seperate?

Cool Re: which wiring should i go with

I replaced all the wiring in my car using AAW, (AmericanAutoWire).
Their tech guys are very good. (the Don's from Jersey)
I started out asking about the orig '68 kit, they started asking me questions about HEI w/built-in coil, long/short water pump, upgrading gauges, convt top, stereo, most of which was no longer original.

Before I new it, I had 8 different part numbers, which ended up being cheaper than the original kit price.
You can buy from them or many online shops including our TC sponsors.

The install was very simple and all the little plastic hangers lined up perfectly.
I was very happy with AAW

Check out their LED tail-light videos.
