Horn cap kit install

My car came with an aftermarket steering wheel that I took out and am putting a stock wheel back in. I bought a horn install kit, but the directions aren't very good ( big surprise, eh?). The kit consists of the bi-metal spring disc, cap cup and the plastic insulator. I put the concave metal spring disc in both ways...1 way I don't have any "spring" in the cup. The other way I do. Either way I don't get a connection to activate the horn. The pic in the instructions shows the disc in first, followed by the cup and then the plastic insulator held in by the three screws. Is this the correct sequence and which way does the spring disc go...concave up or down.

Thanks...

Re: Horn cap kit install

MD,

I went through the same thing. On my car (a 1969) the horn cap had to be smimmed because the contact at the top left corner was hitting and the horn would be on 24/7. Do you have any pics? I'm not an expert in this area but I will try to help.

Thanks!!
