Ignition bezels

Hi,

I just purchsed a used 67 camaro ignition and shortly after, the inner and outer bezels from NPD. the problem that I have is that the bezels do not go over the part of the ignition that the key inserts into.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for taking the key part out of the switch, and/or email me a diagram or two?????

thanks all!

Cory

Re: Ignition bezels

Do you see a tiny hole in the lock cylinder? You have to put something in that hole (I use a tiny allen wrench)to release the lock from switch. The keys have to be in cylinder and you have to turn them one way or the other to release lock.Hope this helps. Dewayne

Cool Re: Ignition bezels

Yep, put that tiny allen wrench in that hole and turn the ignition to the left and or right?? while slightly pulling and it will seperate from the bezel, then reinstall it in the new receptacle.

Re: Ignition bezels

put the key in "accessory" stick something in the hole (I use a straightened out paper clip) then continue turning the key counterclockwise. If you hit the "button" in the hole right, the key will continue to turn till it's near horizontal and you'll be able to pull the cylinder out with the key.
