69 camaro console gauge?

I am installing an OER console gauge cluster in my 69 camaro. There is a short ground wire in the harness. ( I believe it's in the connector to the voltage gauge) Do I install this wire to the back of the gauge cluster. The wire is short, I don't think I will work anyplace else.
I hope this made sense.

Re: 69 camaro console gauge?

That short ground wire connects the two guage pod rows. If you leave it out your guages will only light up half. I did that last year. It will also effect your fuel guage.

Re: 69 camaro console gauge?

The wire goes from the main ground to the guage cluster to the next row of guages. There should be an additional hole in the metal guage carrier. It will be within reach of the short ground wire. I will have to look to see if I have a picture to email you.

Re: 69 camaro console gauge?

I connected this wire to ground, not to the gauge closter. COuld that be causing problems with the fuel gauge and temp gauge when I turn the courtesy/headlights on?
