Thumbs down Site Classifeds and 'Comments'

Hope I am not speaking out of place here but....
sure seems to be alot of neg coments coming from a select few 'users' ( not reg TC members). At 1st it was kinda funny "no one knows more about these cars than me" , "these cars are not worth over 20k" and other comments. I have found it hard not to post and rip on these self proclaimed 'experts' Really makes me want to stop posting here. If I was looking for a car or part and I thought the price was more than I wanted to pay I would make an offer, if the seller acepts it great, if not thats all good as well, not start ranking down the seller or the car / parts.

Guess I am done venting....

Re: Site Classifeds and 'Comments'

funny, but i just noticed that the performance years pontiac forum has a sticky above each classified section:

seems like you think alike!

I don't frequent the classified section, but I do know that it does have a (mostly) different group of posters than the regulars on the board.

Actually a dedicated group of sellers. I know of one been here 6 years selling stuff. I have started a conversation with one guy who would be a credit to the regulars on the BB. Discussing a high dollar part for sale with him.

The classified section here is a great place to buy and sell.

I agree just don't care for all the negative bs posted.... I check them a couple times a day... whether looking to buy / sell or just keeping track of price trends...

It has not happened to me, but I agree with you.

Re: Site Classifeds and 'Comments'

I wasn't discrediting the guys that hang out in the classified section only. I dont have any issue with those that are there and are respectful.

It has been mentioned several times on the board that the the classified section posters are somewhat of a different crowd. I've witnessed it and the down-grading of cars/parts for sale.

But the same occurs on the boards every now and then as well. It's gonna happen.

I think it should be moderated just like the forums. Either play nice or go to another sandbox. There is a lot of disrespectful people and comments in there. This stuff has gone on for way to long.

If that was going on in here, some of those trolls would be gone already.

Re: Site Classifeds and 'Comments'

True. Regrettably it seems a couple of guys will be leaving the classifieds as they simply do not want to listen to my request to stop posting garbage. The "expert" has only been here for two months and doubt he even knows the tech forum exists.

Re: Site Classifeds and 'Comments'

Maybe if the comments part were removed? There is really no need for them. I have asked questions about parts in the comments before, they can be helpfull but I think it's always best to contact the seller directly anyway.

Re: Site Classifeds and 'Comments'

I'll be removing them this morning and actually have toasted a lot of nonsense comments the past week. There is no option to delete "all" comments on a post so those two page jobs take a bit more time and we need to leave the appropriate ones and take out the trash - sometimes they are both.

Are you removing the entire comments option? That's what I was talking about. With it gone no worries, no having to baby sit adults. Anyone has complaints they can go to e-pay.

Re: Site Classifeds and 'Comments'

sorry for the confusion, I thought about removing them completely, but it's worked fairly well for a long time and see no reason for a couple of guys to mess it up. We will deal directly with those that are trying to wreck a good thing first.
