General Question

I have not noticed an "I would recommend" or "I would not recommend" thread concerning restoration shops, and keeping in mind the moderators requests to post messages appropriately, I decided to post this question here rather than in "restoration".

I have contacted a restoration shop concerning replacement of floor pans, trunk pan, rockers, etc., for my '69 Camaro, and would like to find out if anyone else on this site may have used this particular shop before, and if so, were they happy with the results or not.

Question: May I name a specific business on this site? And if so, what thread would be appropriate?

My hat's off to the "Do ItYourselfer's" who have the time and ability to manage such a feat!

Re: General Question

Jeff, I dont think you'll find many Body Shops in Niger that TCers here can comment on.

Try it out in the Body Shop forum. Ask the question "who would you recommend to do the work I need in _________". And then you may get a match up to the body shop you have in question. Or you may not. Contact the better business bureau in that town as well, and or local car clubs, ask around at cruises. But seeing your in Niger that might not work.

Re: General Question

Jeff is headed back to the States at some point, so I suspect the shop is here.

I agree with John's advice. Post in body shop about the replacement work you need, and which state/locality you're looking to have the work done. Then, I think you can throw out the name of the shop you're looking at, and ask for feedback. I can't anyone having a problem with that.

Smile Re: General Question

Thanks Gentlemen. Yes, the car is in the States and I plan to have the work done there. I'm just trying to line it all up so when I get back home I have a game plan ready to go.

Eric, the car is currently in your neck of the woods.
