Be careful out there.

Today I recieved some very sad news. A close personal friend/ long time family friend died. I am unsure exactly what happened, but this is what I know. My friend, Fred, was at his wifes nieces house helping them finish up an addition to their house. They were supposed to finish up yesterday afternoon. Fred and his nephew-in-law were on scaffolding when something happened. Either the scaffolding broke or Fred collapsed. There is some belief that Fred may have had a heart attack, but is hard for me to believe because he was fairly young(around 45), was an avid hunter, stayed in above average shape, and didn't smoke. What ever happened caused to Fred fall on his head, cracking his skull and killing him instantly. Fred was very strong in his faith, was a faithful husband, and a great friend who ALWAYS acted happy to see you no matter what. I told you all of that to tell you this. Please don't take anything for granted. We are not guaranteed a tomorrow. Once you finish reading this. Go in there hug you mom, dad, brother, sister, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, son, daughter, whatever and tell them you love them because you may not get another chance.. I am the worlds worst at procrastinating, but this has been a wake up call for me. All those things that I say "well I'll just do it tomorrow" I will take a second look at. And WILL NOT go to bed angry at anyone that I care for. Guys, be careful out there. If you believe in prayer. Please pray for Fred's wife, she's alone now and is in bad health and will struggle to get through this.

My thoughts and prayers to those affected by this loss. I attended the wake of a freind that died of a heart attack in his sleep last week, he was 63. I'really gonna make that doctors appointment now.

Re: Be careful out there.

I agree Jason! We get so wrapped up in the trivia of life, we miss the big picture...and waste so much time lamenting the things that we didn't do or have. Enjoy the present...and don't live for the future. Live it now!

Re: Be careful out there.

Jason,

My family's prayers are with you. Im just recently, as of yesterday, going through similar situation. A good friend of mine was a car crazy guy too, with Fieros, and exotic, rare cars. He was a salesman for me with an industrial laser company and we partied overseas in Belgium. I got an email from his daughter stating that he was in the cardiovascular center with his heart only pumping 29%, with the prognosis probably not going to make it through the week. I just talked with him two weeks ago and told him how good of a summer I had with my cars and bikes. Now, it just seems meaningless. The only thing that counts; is the people we meet along our journey.

Re: Be careful out there.

My prayers go out to the family. I almost died in a mortar attack in which my vehicle was hit in Iraq on an Army base. It opened my eyes on life and how short it is. Every chance I get I tell the ones I love that I love them. Love you is my last words in every conversation with them.
