Vote Solicitations

Can we create - and ban to - a special forum for soliciting votes for on-line car shows? I've seen enough of this &^*$&%#*&%$ to last me a life time!

Calm down Mike. What does "Can we create - and ban to" mean?

Re: Vote Solicitations

I believe Mike wants to create a specific forum for requesting help with votes to win a contest that are car related and wants anyone requesting votes "banned" to that specific forum .

In other words you have a specific forum for the subject and you can only go on that forum to ask for the help...

Re: Vote Solicitations

IMO - If we created a forum for soliciting votes for online popularity contests it would just draw more attention to the contests and probably increase the number of folks soliciting for the votes.

I call them popularity contests because there is no merit to winning because it's all about who has the most friends and who's friends are the most bored and willing to go back to cast votes over and over!

The contests are also web trickery to generate traffic to a site, it's all about hit count and has nothing to do with content. If it were put to a vote I'd say leave it as is, we've only had a few lately that I have noticed...

Re: Vote Solicitations

What's the harm? Scroll past them. There are so many threads here one person could never read them all.
