Questions

Hi everyone. I have few questions.

I am not a paid member so I'm assuming there are restrictions in place for that. Is there some sort of trick to putting more than one or two pics in a post? I posted 3 pics last month sometime, all showed for a brief moment and then one of them disappeared. How is it that other non-paying members can attach really enormous pics, bigger than what my screen is, and I could only do two really itty bitty tiny ones and no more until I delete them?

When I find some info I can use to help me on my car in the garage I would like to print one or two replies from a post not the whole thread or all the pages. Is there a way to print a reply from a thread instead of printing all replies or all the pages that go with it and NOT print all the color that goes along with it? It's kind of a waste of paper and color ink for me to do that with the economy the way it is.

At one time there was a search feature that would allow you to search for posts from a team member. This had a different layout than if you just clicked on the members name in a post to see all post by a member. Did I say that correctly? Kind of like how it is now when you find a forum you want to go into (engines, restoration, etc.) and all the questions are there from all members but instead having all the post from a certain member with that layout. Know what I mean?

And lastly, I seem to not be able to do a spell check. If I try to download I get zip, nadda, nothing. Just a flash like something happened but didn't really.

Thanks

Re: Questions

Hi Gary,
If you click on the user's name a screen will appear. There you will see; find all posts by user.

Hi Steve. I don't really like that one. There used to be a box in advanced search to put a members name in and you could get the same post, but in a different layout. More like when we choose a forum to go in. It isn't there anymore. It's been a year since my last post and some things have changed.

In the upper right hand corner, right next to the whistle, is a #. Click on that and it will open that reply only in a new window.

Re: Questions

For your pictures, use a hosting site such as www.flickr.com

Upload your photos there and then you can post them without attaching them to the post. When you upload them on flickr, there is an option to view them that says "all sizes". When you click on that, it will give you five size options. I usually use the medium size. If using Internet Explorer, right click on the picture and select "properties" then copy and paste the picture address displayed in between . In Firefox, simply right click on the picture and select "copy image location".

Flickr is free up to a certain amount of space and bandwidth which is all you need is you just post on occasionally. The fee for premium use is well worth it if you have a lot of stuff or want to share a lot.

I read the link in the moderators "Click" Jim's post and wasn't positive if I could do this via a photo hosted site. I'll give it a try.

Thanks.

Re: Questions

I found the "all post by user" box. I needed to go to advanced search to utilize it.

One more to go.

Spell checker. I must have been doing something wrong trying to download IESpell checker. After several tries I ended up at the website and made progress.

Thanks for all the help fellas.
