Editing my initial post in thread??

I know I can edit posts that I've made, ...done it before many times.

I'm sure I'm missing something, ...but I can't seem to see where I can edit a post for a thread I started...?

For example:

https://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=196827

Is there a way I can EDIT that post (ie. to note items being sold) ?

I did search around, ...but no luck.

Thanks,

Kevin

Re: Editing my initial post in thread??

Why can't you hit the EDIT button on the bottom of the post?

Re: Editing my initial post in thread??

Keep in mind the edit feature was limited to just a short time after a post is made to allow corrections. At least it was when Al ran the site. The reason was so folks can't say one thing and after others reply change what they say.

Re: Editing my initial post in thread??

Guys, ...Thanks for the responses, ..and my apologies for not following up sooner.

I've looked over my initial post above, ...and maybe I'm blind, ...but I don't believe an "EDIT" button exists on the bottom of the INITIAL post that a person makes.
As well, ..the "Thread tools" pulldown menu doesn't have an "Edit Thread" option, ...just "Show Printable", "Email", or "Subscribe".
I did check to confirm I am signed in (not just browsing as a guest)...

I will ADD, ...YES, ...an "EDIT" button DOES exist at the bottom on THIS post of mine, ...however NOT on my "initial" post (above).

Unless I am totally missing something, ...the net appears, ...that YES, ...I can edit a post, ...given it is NOT the initial post of a thread.
I am simply trying to find if that is the way it is for all users, ...or if it's a 'glitch'.

Thanks again,

Kevin

Re: Editing my initial post in thread??

Keven as I said the edit is a timed feature that goes away after 15 minutes or an hour or something. Since autoforums took over years ago I have noticed some forums the time allowed is longer than others but Al use to keep short.

The bottom line is if there is no "Edit" button next to the "quote, multi-quote or quick reply" buttons then you cannot edit your post. The other mods that answered can see that button on every post and that influenced their answer.

You can post a reply saying what has sold or better yet use the "quote" button to reply to update your ads.

Sorry my first reply didn't get the message across.

Now come back in 20 minutes, one hour and maybe 2-3 hours later and at some point the edit on your post will expire! It's the way the system is set up. Read my first post, I told why it's that way in it.
