Posting in Off Topic

What gives ? Have the website rules changed ?

I am a non-paying contributor to the website so I know I can't complain too much.

I have been posting in the tech sections and a lot in off-topic; but now it appears off-topic is off limits to non-members.

Just wondering if the rules have been recently changed because I have been posting in off-topic for months and now I can't.

Thanks,

Biff

Re: Posting in Off Topic

Hi Biff,

There have been no changes made to the system, can't imagine what you did that caused a change! Nice to see you are familar with the site. Not many new folks sign up and go right to the off topic forum and jump right in! It can get rough back there so watch yourself. With over 175 of your 207 posts back there maybe you've got it all figured out!

Funny you never stopped into the Welcome forum and introduced yourself to everyone... Oh well, kinda like you're an old hand at this stuff! I understand you have a '68 ragtop with a 454 between the fenders, any pictures?

Nah, it's a coupe and it's in need of paint. Also have a 66 Chevelle.

I like the '66 body style, maybe you have moved over here from our sister site Team Chevelle? It would explain you knowing right where Off Topic was if you have already been signed up for Current Events on the Chevelle site... What is your screen name over there, maybe we have talked before? Post pic's of both your cars, folks would love to see them, even in primer!

Re: Posting in Off Topic

Dennis is there any rule that says a banned member can't sign back in under another user name?

Re: Posting in Off Topic

Well let's put it this way, if someone is banned from the site, it means they are not welcome to post here. If said banned person creates a new identity here and posts it's like telling the moderators fu so ya, it's not a good thing to sneek back onto the site!

There is very little that someone can do here to end up with a permenant ban, usually it's something said in pm or e-mail that ends someones relationship with the forums and I believe alcohol and drugs usually are the drivers for that.

Thanks Dennis, I see some posters change their name with the wind and so I was wondering.
