Spellcheck Enabled?

I notice this function is working?
Or is it just me? Kindda neat, in a way.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but I also have noticed other colors into the set-up.

Re: Spellcheck Enabled?

Spell check where?
Yer browser should automatically red underline words that are misspelled.
I think I remember seeing a spell check feature here in the forum somewhere also, but don't use it.

Where are the color differences? Have you been having too much ice cream Everett?

Re: Spellcheck Enabled?

Noticed the same thing Everett, I never had spellcheck before a week or so ago, now it underlines misspelled words. Maybe Explorer did an update that changed something?

Re: Spellcheck Enabled?

I was just able to restore my reading-of-links and posting ability. Then this site asked me to install iespell when I would click on "ABC". Well, it's been on my machine since iespell was invented so I right click and use my machine's iespell.
But, alas, a couple of days ago I decided to get this sites version of iespell. BIG MISTAKE! The mirror site filled my machine with other crap including changing my home page and adding junk on the task bar that ostensibly purports to constantly scan my system for errors and stuff. Garbage. I was able to delete it though.
Oh, the "ABC" function still DOES NOT WORK. Grrrrr

Yeah Iespell was bundled a thousand years ago with one version of internet explorer and with an early version of firefox before that same engine was incorporated into mozilla code. You should be able to run windows restore to the date and time before you installed the site version.

Re: Spellcheck Enabled?

I only use IE 9. No changes other than default and whatever updates are given with Windows Updates.
I don't do IE 10, not ready for it.

Re: Spellcheck Enabled?

Dennis said his buttons were changing colors too the other day, just like you described Everett. Then it went away. Must be a glitch because it doesn't do it for me. Never has.
FF has always underlined misspelled words in red. It's a selectable on\off choice when you right-click in an area of text that you've typed. It's checked by default so you never have to worry about it.

Re: Spellcheck Enabled?

What's happening on my win8 box in IE10 is posted links to ebay are blue (normal) when the pages first loads but before you can get the cursor over them they become regular text and are no longer a hot link. If I refresh the page and am real fast it's a working link but then goes to plain text. This only happens to ebay links, all others are display and work fine.

There are several skins (page layouts) available in the lower left and if you change the skin it will change colors and the way the page looks. Everett maybe yours has changed.

Yesterday I was prompted, actually told I had 15 minutes until my system would reboot. I haven't seen this since I quite working on server's and pc's and remotely forcing a reboot. Anyway after the reboot anything I accessed in IE10 with a login and password (here, ebay etc) didn't even remember my user ID's so something was updated in IE that wiped out cookies... I hate when updates are pushed at you. It's one thing when a corporate IT or support staff does it to it's clients but sucks when Microsoft does it across the board!

Re: Spellcheck Enabled?

Where are these coloured button u guys talking about?

As to weird things happening....and have gone thru this since IE2 and netscape..

OK I have no practical reason to go from XP yet...my machines do everything I need.
But as O/S get upgraded.. from win3.11....this get screwed up with new coding, doing new things in web sites etc, even to how what used to be wriitten in htm is diddrent now.
So using older IE, not being able to upgrade with the new Win version....weird things happen, at 1st occasional then gets more and more and often weirder....couple sites random words had popups as one scrolled over relating to something totally different..
Then signs "this page hasnt loaded" or something like "if u keep running this script"..
The old version ie not upgraded, sees the norm strange or error or something naughty.

Which , like way back when went to netscape, this time have a upgraded/ upgradable browser like fire fox... yeap when /I need to upgrade from XP, I will then run ie like on previous occasions lol

My Spelling is not incorrect...it is creative

Re: Spellcheck Enabled?

Here at work, if I misspell, no correction and buttons are pastel blue, not turquoise/aqua.
So, it must be a browser thing...
Thanks, Dennis, for the suggestion, I'll look into it.
