Posting PDF files

The OP of the thread below was able to post a PDF file to that thread. Could you point me to the directions how this is done?

Re: Posting PDF files

He put the link to the PDF file in between [img] and [/img] HTML tags, as you would do when posting an image.
Like this, as an example:

1969 04A Van Nuys-built Z/28. Cortez Silver with dark blue interior and VE3. Sold Clippinger Chevrolet. Raced at Lions in LA.

Re: Posting PDF files

There are only links to photos in that thread, but you upload a PDF file like any attachment, as long as it meets the size limits here for uploads.

Or you link to any photo or attachment on another site as described above with html image tags, and url tags.

Re: Posting PDF files

You can attach a PDF as long as it's smaller than 97K. That's tiny!
But those links are to other web sites, not directly attaching a PDF to a post. Linking and attaching are two different things.

This document is an attachment:
Attached Files
File Type: pdf TCC_Trans_Switch_Diagram.pdf (90.7 KB, 67 views)

Brian I am not sure what you mean, only link to photos in that thread? In the thread I quoted in the OP I was able the click on the attachment and drag it to my desktop. Then after it was on the desktop in could click on it and open the file in PDF format the 13 page instruction manual.

Re: Posting PDF files

I looked and looked, then drug both of the 2 links to my desktop and both opened as web pages. One was a picture from Ricks, the other is Heartbeat City's web site.

I got it!! I went back and saw the reply you entered yesterday. I don't see any link to any PDF in the original post. I had to Edit his post in order to see the link he included.
Why I cannot see that link is a mystery. I suspect Brian can't see that PDF link to Painless website either.

Re: Posting PDF files

Guys,

If you take the link to the pdf (using the advanced editor) and click the paper clip (attachments) and upload it from your hard drive or paste it into "upload from url" then upload it; if it's not too big it will be an attachment when you post. The one in question is too big... Here's a couple examples (one of each):
Attached Files
File Type: pdf CarbList.pdf (91.3 KB, 27 views)
File Type: pdf application.pdf (9.1 KB, 40 views)

...Dennis

Joe I am viewing it on a iPad and opened the PDF file on a iMac if that makes a difference. My iMac says that document size is 1.1 MB.

Re: Posting PDF files

Maybe that's why it's not visible to everyone. I see the one I attached, and the 2 Dennis attached.
I logged out and looked at the OP and it's still invisible to me.

Either way, it can be done.
