Re: someone trying to scam people selling in Classifieds

I'm beginning to feel that the free AF sponsored classifieds should be removed from our top menu bar for the amount of trouble they cause our members.

The forum sponsored classified below the top menu require you to be a member of Team Camaro - but that won't always protect you from a dedicated scammer, but if they have zero postings or low postings over a short period of time, I would avoid sending cash to them.

If you get a funny feeling about someone like that, trust your gut, demand proof of what you think is required from them in an email within 24 hours or you will delete their message. See what happens. Then still be leary. We cant control who makes you offers, so seller beware as much as buyer beware.

A minimum of 25 or 50 post count before being able to post in the classifieds would help out a lot...

Just my opinion but the world is full of flakes and it doesn't matter where you advertise your parts, here, Hemings, Autotrader, local paper, craigslist I could go on and on... Any time you post it's out there for the world to see and reply!

It's frustrating but it's the way of it, even the forum classifieds are visible to the world and there is no way to stop that so as a seller you have to protect yourself and if you are not willing to deal with tire kickers and scam buyers then don't list anywhere but the paid member areas...

Just be forewarned with someone asking too much info and/or want you to cash a large check and pay for shipping out of it too.
