Member's Photos Suitable for Desktop Wallpaper

I see so many great member cars here but few photos suitable to use as desktop wallpaper.

Most of us use 22" or bigger monitors at home. The resolution of mine requires a 1920 X 1080 pic to display correctly.

Why don't we make a category where members can post pics of cars, engines, underbody shots etc that are in high resolution ?

Just a thought. I hope this happens.

Re: Member's Photos Suitable for Desktop Wallpaper

Well here are a few thoughts. Members can post links to any off site photo share in any resolution they wish to. Paying members are limited to space and the AutoGuide system as a whole conforms to storage and bandwidth standards per file type available in the up-loader legend at the bottom of the window. Larger pictures rob the system and hog your storage capacity. Most users here have links to their photo shares listed in their signatures.

While on the subject - the posting of pictures is covered in digital millennium copyright act, and photos are just another category of intellectual property that users must implicitly mark their photos as being copyrighted or property of and used under permission by, but few, myself included do so. And others using photos from here without permission is also covered in the act and was recently upheld when Facebook tried to say the photos posted by users became the property of FB and could be used for commercial gain and advertising. So be careful about what you share here.

So bottom line is you should mark your photos as property and used by permission to limit their transfer, or commercial use, or at the least you should ask someone if you are going to use their photo for something other than a posting here on TC.

Within our community here, that is simple and easy to do. You should be polite and PM an owner to see if they can email you a particular photo outside the system at a higher resolution than you have found here IMHO this is fair and keeps everything above board and legal, and it doesen't hog a members storage space.
