Only 2 problems w/ new site?

I'm having 2 small problems:

1. When I click to view a thread, it takes me to the bottom (last post) of the thread. Even to the last page.
Is there a setting I can change?

2. When I scroll my cursor over a topic on the "home page" it used to show me the first few lines of the thread. Now it
just shows me the same info as I scrolled over (ie. the name of the thread)

Not serious problems, but slightly annoying.

Thanks,
John

I use fire fox and the hover is working just fine.

Make sure your text zoom is not set too large. Reset to 100% then try. Then move up gradually until it stops displaying more than the title and then back off in zoom percentage.

The thread settings are set in two locations. First in your control panel under edit settings. Then on the forums at the bottom left. And you can set threads to oldest / newest liner or group display at the top right.

You can override your settings for this by on the forum thread listings click the arrow by the last poster user name and that will always open the last post of that thread.

Re: Only 2 problems w/ new site?

Brian,
Sorry to be such an idiot, but I can't find the text zoom settings....but to let you know, the "hold over" feature works fine within a forum and on the right side of the home page, just not the main section.
And on the displaying threads issue, it displays them correctly, but takes me to the bottom of the page rather than the top. I hope this is more clear
Thanks,
John

Re: Only 2 problems w/ new site?

Does it work on this page? https://www.camaros.net/forums/

or this one? Team Camaro - Active Topics

Several pictures posted below, thread setting options in your users control panel under edit settings, and the forum or quick search link output. The display modes and finally the last unread post from inside the thread.

In the user settings you are setting defaults and how the posts are shown. These are my settings by the way so you might just copy them into yours.

As to the second picture there are three ways to open the thread in the example.
The down arrow extreme left will open the thread and take you to the last unread posting in that thread for you browser cookie.
NOTE to all: If you don't set and save cookies for this site not sure but you might end up on the first posting of every thread.

The second way to open the thread is to click on the title of the thread. That should open on post number one of that thread.

The third way is to click on the > right arrow on the extreme right next tot he user name of the last poster. That will take you to the bottom of the thread tot he last post.

On the actual thread there are again tools to view. Click the display mode and see what yours are defaulting to. I use the linear mode.

Lastly the inside option on the left to view last unread thread. Again it is symbolized by the down arrow.

Re: Only 2 problems w/ new site?

Thanks a lot Brian for helping me with these settings!
I used some of your suggestions and things are getting better.
This is my favorite site, so with more time I'll see if I have to change any more things.
Thanks again!
John
