Annoying Location Query

Ever since the website was upgraded, every time I try log in I get interrupted with a query as to my location. Enough already, this always interupts my inputting the password and is annoying. Why is this information requested or necessary? if the website wants this info, ask it of non-members and stop requesting this information from those of us who have paid memberships. I paid for a membership to support the site and eliminate such annoyances.

I will be surprised if its the site doing that. I log in from multiple systems and have never seen that.

Re: Annoying Location Query

Chris Location tracking is part of the browser software not here. It is used supposedly to help you receive location related maps and tips in your area but in actuality is is used more often especially in google chrome to fine tune the crap ads thrown at you.You can shut it off in the browser settings for your desktop and under iOS for apple devices.

We DO require that every member have a location in their profile. You do and it is set to "Texas" so it is not our profile manager nagging you and that would only happen at this point if you had gone into edit profile, tried to delete the current location and put noting in its place. Blank is not allowed and the edit would not be saved.

The issue with image uoploader and error should be temp fixed.

We turned off the Drag and Drop for now which causes the error.

Mass deploy of fix should be rolled out nexy week.

Re: Annoying Location Query

Thanks Brian, my bad, I think you're right it's probably the Safari location tracking setting on the iPad. I thought I'd set it to off, but I'll have to reset it to off and that should fix the problem.

Re: Annoying Location Query

If you recently updated iOS it often gets turned back on so you should go through all your privacy and custom settings after an update.
