Slow refresh attitude.

Not sure if this is my computer, the T.C. website or Firefox...I've been experiencing really slow refresh rates and a delay of over 5 minutes to return to previous pages and sometimes a lot longer. These two sites seem to just sit waiting for a "HANDSHAKE?" api.verticalscope.com and www.vbtoucan.com. Never had this issue until recently with T.C.

Currently I'm using Windows7 as my O.S. and to see if maybe the O.S. was corrupt I did a reinstall this past weekend of W7 and the issue is still there.

Any ideas?

G.

Re: Slow refresh attitude.

Mine works fine. If you have downloaded anything lately there may be a conflict. First do a scan and make sure there is nothing running in the background slowing you down.

Have already done that...that's why I did a fresh reinstall this past weekend to see if that would eliminate this, but it didn't. I haven't added/downloaded anything to the computer except Firefox 59.0.2 and T.C. link. The hard drive is damn near empty.

Something I haven't thought about though is the fact that I use HUGHESNET for my SP , but not sure if even they could be the issue.

Hey there,

Are you running on any extensions on your browser?
That could hinder performance.

Gary, Next time it's struggling open the task manager to see if you can identify a process that's hanging up. Personally I would upgrade from windows 7. My guess is there's a script running that 7 can't handle. Also try a different browser.

Re: Slow refresh attitude.

I use my iPad for surfing and this site is the worst one I'm on. Going in and out of threads takes a lot long than other sites. It's all relative but it's annoying. Everything else is instant, this site just not as quick.

Seems like about 10 senconds between page loads at minimum.

Reinstalled W7, updated. Installed Microsoft Security Essentials, Installed Firefox 59.0.2, and linked to T.C....That's it. Haven't really wanted to install any add-ons just yet because of the refresh rate issue.

That's what got me to noticing there was something not right. In task manager there was up to 5 instances of Firefox.exe opened using over 1.4M K memory. Figured out how to remedy that, and now have one instance using 750K memory. Others with W7 have this issue as well when I researched it.

I've used IE exclusively from day one, but seem to have had a better experience with Mozilla the past few years.

Actually I dig XP Pro myself. I tried Vista, eeehhhh!! W8 on up, not a fan. W7 is much like Vista so I use it since XP took a dive.

Same here. I can go on most, if not all, other sites, many of them Camaro related, and not have the same issue of slowness on T.C.

LOL!!! HughesNet and I had a good laugh one day when I asked them about the results of the SPEEDTEST's. They are a real joke, but, they are all we have where I live. They also throttle at any time.

It's slightly faster but not up to other forums and websites.

Re: Slow refresh attitude.

Hey there,

How is the speed today for you?
I'm on Chrome/WIN10 with no signs of slowdowns.
Browsed around with 3-second loading speed.
Are you still hanging on api.verticalscope.com and www.vbtoucan.com?
