classified help...

looks like I screwed the pooch on this one.

I placed an ad with pics in member classifieds, no prob.

Later I decided to put it in christmas classifieds, too.
I copied the ad, including the thumbnails os the pics, made a new post, and pasted them in. The pics didn't transfer to the second ad. The thumbnails did, as links that pull up the thumbnail pic when you click them...so I deleted those.
Then I tried to simply upload the attachments again, to the new ad, but the software refused. It told me I'd all ready uploaded those, and refered me to the original ad.
So I tried the upload url, and copied the url of the pic in the other ad, but that was invalid...
So... I thought I'd be a smartass and rename the pics on my computer, but no dice, the software is smarter than me, it knows these are the same pics..

Any chance of straightening this out? I'd really like the pics to be in the ad...

Re: classified help...

have a look to see what "attachments" you have already have listed.

https://www.camaros.net/forums/profil...ditattachments

the program is cranky if you try to use the same image name it already has on file.

re-naming them should work, but it might be looking at file sizes, although it's not supposed to. I blame this on cylons - they are getting more control than we should let them.

Re: classified help...

cranky is right!
tried a second different filename, no help.
finally went back to photoshop with the original camera files, resized them to a different size, resaved them (using the same rejected name #3) and it took them.
Is there an easier way? If I'd used the "showroom" would it have let me link to those pics from the ad's without having to upload them more than once?

Re: classified help...

showroom would work like you mentioned. You should also be able to right click on the current uploaded forum photos and copy/paste them into another topic.

It just doesn't want you to upload the same photos, the showroom is the same way about uploading the same named file.
