Red face 3rd Gen Newbies

The board dedicated to third generation Camaros and Firebirds (ya those Z/28 cars they sell at auction for under a thousand) recently died and is in the process of being regenerated by a new group of managers. Aparently in some of the house cleaning a lot of the low volume spongers were or still are being ignored so they are showing up here for lack of a better place to go.

Just wanted to make members aware of the problem in case you were wondering why they were popping up more frequently than before.

Re: 3rd Gen Newbies

I'm a third-gen owner and I actually find this site to be a bit more organized and has a broader spectrum of Camaro fans. I like hearing from the 1st, 2nd, 4th (and hopefully 5th one day) generations, who all share pride in the Camaro badge. Never have I received an email from an online group wishing me a happy birthday like this place has (which was kinda strange at first). For me, it's the little things like that make this place feel like a true home for Camaro fans like me. And Dave, a third-gen Camaro isn't all that bad, at least I'm not driving a Mustang!

Cool Re: 3rd Gen Newbies

I got two in the back yard (3rd genners) myself (Berlinetta and a Z/28). Bought the B for it's interior and Z for the V-8 with 4 wheel disc. Will mate the two with a home grown, noncomputer controled engine (it's after the '78 Nova which gets built next)

Post Re: 3rd Gen Newbies

That sounds like a good combo, I've learned the hard way that third-gen interior parts are hard to come by (especially the dash pad) and are expensive when you can find them. (I saw a dash pad go for around $300! ) I hope I didn't sound at all flustered with ya Dave, I was trying to be comical Anyhow, I'm quite certain that the increased appearance of third-genners will be welcome here and I'm glad to be a part of this "family". One more thing Dave, I hope you're having some luck, it seems you could combine the two to make an awesome Z!

Re: 3rd Gen Newbies

Hey there folks. Glad to see some 3rd gen fans. Had a 67 and a 69. nuff said. I am BACK. Lotsa kids and now grand kids, but pops is back building camaro's.

Just salvaged a t top iroc from the dump and NO it isnt slow ANYMORE. Refitted an aging vette motor I had laying around and the beast is back. Funny how it got bigger each time it was built. 383 now.

Now for the tranny and rear. Body has all but clearcoat done and the interior is clean but wondering about roll bars and such. Having a terrible time with sourcing parts for a locker for the rear and a roll bar for the seat belts. I know for darn sure I will become illegal without a roll bar of sorts in any sanctioned events. Any information as far as stock rear and tranny upgrades are welcome and roll bar ideas are very welcome

It will be street/strip, but no ford is going to catch this one if I can help it.

I'm not sure which 3rd gen. site you are speaking of, but http://www.thirdgen.org is still there and working.

69 Camaro -originally a LM1 car. 327, Edelbrock E-streets, hooker, DUI performance distributors, ultradyne cam, stewart, TRW etc. Vintage Air, AGR steering, Corbeau GTSII seats, 700R4 transmission, 12-bolt w/Eaton 4.11:1
