Font size?

I've been off line for 3 weeks or so with computer problems and am aware that there have been many changes to the site recently but is the font smaller or is it just my eyes? Is there any way to increase size. short of buying a bigger monitor. Only got a 15". Through my tool bar, "text size" is already at its "largest". Thx,Jim

Re: Font size?

Jim the forum font is not effected by the "<view><text size> on the tool bar. I'm guessing that in resolving your computer problems you ended up with a higher resolution setting for your display. Right click on an open section of your screen (not on a window) and select <properties>. Next click on the <settings> tab. Here you will see what resolution is set and can change it. On your 15" monitor I would try 800x600. It will make text easier to read but you will see less on the screen. That's the trade-off with lower resolution settings. Try 1024x768 and see that may be ok for your eyes and you'll get more on the screen.

Side note monitors are dirt cheap these days, you can get a 19" flat panel for a couple hundred. Go back to tube monitors and you can get a 19" for around $100 if you look around.

Re: Font size?

Hi Jim. It's possible that you used our "large font" setting and now that your computer is back up it lost track of things.

If the suggestion from Dennis doesn't fix it, go to the bottom left of this page and click the box that says "Camaro" and choose the ----- large font

this bumps up the font size throughout the forums.

Re: Font size?

Thanks Al and DjD. Al's suggestion fixed my problem. Yes, I've looked at a new monitor but after buying a new computer I told the wife that we'd get ourselves a monitor and call it Christmas. The Mother board went out on my 10 yr old Dell and it still had ME so it wasn't worth fixing. Finally in to the XP world and so far, it has worked great. I'm really amazed a how much faster the new computer works with my DSL. Thanks guys. Jim
