Houndstooth colors

I have a 1968 convertible. I have PUI pearl houndstooth front seat covers number 68ht28u. I need the rear cover. A lot of companies have black, white, and parchment listed. But the PUI company only shows black, white, and pearl available. So is the parchment the same as pearl? Most companies don’t show the actual company model number.

Re: Houndstooth colors

I do not know the answer but most companies will send you a color swatch for free. Give the vendors a call and ask for it. I did that for a 90 camaro recently and was very surprised at what shades they were calling similar product names.

Re: Houndstooth colors

Originally, the early shade of white was referred to as parchment, then they changed to ivory later in the model year. I think "pearl" is a term the aftermarket came up with. Likely is suppose to be the same as parchment, but I agree with Brian, ask for a sample. No doubt there are variations among the different manufacturers...

edit; HBC offers PUI and refers to them as parchment. I didn't see any mention of pearl....1968 Camaro Convertible Deluxe Houndstooth Interior Rear Seat Cover Upholstery Parchment - 1967, 1968, 1969 Camaro Parts - NOS, Rare, Reproduction Camaro Parts for your Restoration

Here is the tag from the front seat covers. It says pearl.

Re: Houndstooth colors

Yes, I didn't doubt you. There's been discussion here before on this topic, but I don't recall any definite conclusions. You might try a search, maybe you'd have better luck than me.

FWIW, this site 1967 - 1969 Camaro interiors claims "ivory has pearl in the vinyl, parchment does not".

I suggest you contact HBC as they handle PUI and the customer service seems to be very knowledgeable in my experience.
