Back Seat won't fit after mini tub?

Hello all,
I tried the search but didn't find what I was looking for, I installed the Detroit Speed mini tub kit in my 68 and now I went to put the back seat in and there is no way it will fit. I didn't see anything in the instructions about having to modify the seats, anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Yes you have to modify the seat. Good info here:

Re: Back Seat won't fit after mini tub?

dhutton thanks for the info.

Vega$68: It's a surprise because when I bought the kit at the Goodguys car show I was specifically told by the Detroit Speed guys I DID NOT have to modify the rear seats.

ilikeike: My instructions are on a DVD so I don't have pg 21. Now just to be fair this kit was purchased 10 or more years ago

Yes the seat frame have to be modified to fit the mini tubs. Not hard to do.

Vega$69: I don't know the name of the salesman but it was about 10 years ago, I took home everything except the fuel tank from the show they shipped me the tank. I will pull out the DVD and watch it again an see if it says anything about modifying the seats.

Re: Back Seat won't fit after mini tub?

Hi Aric, I have a rear seat for sale that has been modified for mini-tub. I ended up with an interior from a new Camaro so I didn't use my modified rear seat. It is in the parts for sale. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks.
