Rear bench seat spring measurement.

Good evening all, I am reupholstering my back seat however when I bought my 68 Camaro with standard interior the bench seat springs were just setting in there and I don' believe they fit right. Does somebody have the measurements for the bottom and top springs without foam. Thanks in advance.

Re: Rear bench seat spring measurement.

there's no foam in the back seat so the spring should go all the way to the side panel

Re: Rear bench seat spring measurement.

Rear seat for deluxe interior is narrower. Deluxe includes the arm rests which take up the extra space.

Could it be you have a deluxe interior rear seat?

I should note: I am dealing with my 67, which I assume would be the same as 68 in this regard.
My rear seat (for deluxe interior) is not yet upholstered either and the width of the skeletal seat base is just a bit over 46.5"

I can't complain, but sometimes I still do.

Re: Rear bench seat spring measurement.

67-8 deluxe-standard set-ups are not the same. It all depends on armrest usage...Camaro - Interior Related

IIRC, the wide seat (w/o armrests) is about 4" wider than the narrow seat (with armrests).

Mine is standard now with no armrest, it could have been deluxe but I bought it with no interior. If it goes all the way to the sides looks like I will have to change it. Thanks for the help.

There were only 2 widths offered. Larry's narrow seat base is 46.5". If I'm not mistaken, the wide seat is aprox 4" wider (50.5"). What does yours measure ?

Assuming your car isn't a convertible or had a fold down rear seat, it would've had the wide seat with no armrests. Your cowl tag will tell if it was a deluxe or standard interior, but that's irrelevant on the rear seat width for 68 and 69.
