Morris Classics seatbelts don’t fit

I have Corbeau Seats and the Morris Classics seatbelt kit just doesn’t fit with them. It’s like the seat is too wide for them. Can’t get the seat back far enough. I even adjusted the arms to no avail. Anyone else have this problem? Possible solution? Am I just gonna have to use stock lap belts?

Call Morris Classic's and talk to Billy, he may have something that moves the take-up real back behind the seat.

Pretty sure he has brackets that will allow them to fit. Contact him and he will set you up.

Morris Classics seatbelts do fit

Morris Classic seat belts are designed to fit stock interiors and are year & car specific.
Added sound deadener and non stock seats do present problems.
We offer brackets that set the reel rearward 6.5" & 9".

Re: Morris Classics seatbelts donít fit

Maybe it's just the pictures? When I installed mine I was concerned the interior door panel was going to hit the retractor (I had read where it had hit on other installs). Mine clear the panel by about a sheet of paper, close but no contact. Yours look to be a pretty good distance away from the interior door panel. Not sure what's causing that? Wonder if you have the correct parts?

Re: Morris Classics seatbelts don’t fit

Anything added to the floor pan will decrease the clearance between the seat & retractor.
In a factory carpet & jute mat configuration there is an 1/16" to 1/8" clearance between the retractor,
door & seat.

Re: Morris Classics seatbelts donít fit

Billy, You mentioned there could be an issue with sound deadener on the floor pan.
I havenít installed my Morris seatbelts in my 69 Camaro restoration yet. I do have Dynomat extreme put on the floor pan and Iím about to put in the standard type carpet with jute. Is there something I should do around the seatbelt area (like cut away the Dynomat) for extra clearance before I install my carpet? Thanks.

Re: Morris Classics seatbelts don’t fit

JB,
I would remove some of the jute to be the same thickness
as factory underlayment leaving the Dynomat. Because the
Dynomat has a better sound & heat rating than the jute.
Thank You for purchasing our seat belts!
If you have another questions call us

Thx, Billy

Re: Morris Classics seatbelts donít fit

Billy, Did the original poster ever get straightened out? Those retractors are different than the ones in my 68 camaro. My lap belt does not go directly into the retractor, there is a metal arm off the retractor it attached to. I think he has the wrong parts.

I like mine so much I just want to be sure he is working with the right parts.

Thanks again,

Re: Morris Classics seatbelts don’t fit

Jeff,
He has the metal bracket vertical behind the reel instead of pointing to the front as it should be to go over your lap.
I think he called and ordered the brackets that relocate the reel backwards and inward.
