floor carpet

is it still necessary to get mass backing carpet when sound deadening/ heat material is installed in car
everyone recommends ACC carpet ?

I went with ACC carpet and it was great. The install was fairly easy. Let it is sit in the sun for about an hour and it is much easier to work with. I used the factory correct heat padding/soiund deadener, but it I were to do it again, I would go with the dynomat or something similar.

I would recommend against the mass backing carpet if you are using sound deadener. I think that is designed to simulate the factory padding. I think that would make it look wrong and would give you fitment issues.

Bill, There's been numerous posts over the years on carpet. IMO the general
consensus is with mass backing no extra deadener/shielding is needed and
may cause fit issues. ACC still seems to be the best overall choice. Rockauto
has the best pricing.

I use mass backing over sound deadner.

Fit is very good. I feel its worth the money
