NewBee with one of many upcoming questions

Hi Everyone,
Just took delivery of a 67 Camaro RestoMod and starting to tackle a few issues. 1st is the center console wiring, gauges, etc. The car has been upgraded to a 700 trans with OD. Iíve removed the console and looked at the shifter, but canít figure out what/how itís supposed to show the shift position. It has a plastic plate with P thru 1 and backlighting, but nothing that would show P, R,N, etc.

Also, it has the factory 3 gauge pod. Fuel over temp on left, Clock center, oil over amp on the right. The amp meter isn't hooked up and thereís no spare wiring for it. Iíve read itís not good to use these anymore. What are your thoughts?

Thanks, looking forward to learning a lot here and enjoying the car this summer 👍

If you have the factory original console, Shiftworks sells the indicator plate for
the overdrive trannys. I have one in my 67 with a 200r4 trans.

The car has the correct plate with 3 gears and OD. I was just expecting some kind of indicator that shows what gear the shifter is in.

Re: NewBee with one of many upcoming questions

There isn't a "pointer" for each P,R,N,3,2,1 position of the illuminated bezel. The shifter handle basically lines up with each one as its movement is across a detent plate you feel. I assume your car has the Shiftworks kit for the 700R using the stock "horseshoe" shift handle??

Regarding the console gauge wiring. If your wiring harness is stock and the car came with console gauges the wires should be under the console. Otherwise not. Aftermarket wire harness like a AAW can have those additional circuits. You can add wiring to your gauges if your current harness does not have them. This assumes the gauges themselves function.
