1969 camaro glass

Is A OER glass kit worth buying? Anyone have any experience with the fit and finish . The car is far from stock just looking for some good glass .

I'm not sure the vendor OER gets theirs from, but I bought LH and RH kits for my 69 through Firewheel Classics and they fit terrible. I spent hours on end trying to get them to adjust up and they weren't even close. I went with a nice pair of OE glass.

Again, not knocking OER as I don't have experience with them just sharing my experience with the vendor from Firewheel Classics.

I think all the offshore glass is pretty much the same. You can likely get the same glass from Autocity glass for less on eBay.

YMMV on the fit....

Re: 1969 camaro glass

Unfortunately I believe all glass is now made offshore. I just had a PPG windshield put in after waiting months for a Pilkington windshield which did show up but was scratched as was "the only other one" the shop was able to source

I believe PPG comes from Mexico now but "supposedly" is made from the original formula when it was made in USA

I put Auto City glass in my car. "Door and quarter glass". No issues. I have pilkinton windshield, and PGW in the rear. No complaints on any of them.

I used Auto City windshield on the last convertible. It fit well but it is narrow. No way a dam can be used if one wants to replicate originality. Need to keep the urethane tight so it can't be seen inside the moldings.

Call for restoration and custom paint scheduling:

good to know. I get pilkinton here for pennies on the dollar when I buy in bulk. Never used Auto City windshields.

Well I gave up as I think I was overthinking this . I have a local glass guy coming this week to install a windshield and rear window . He was referred to me by a guy who does paint and body on old cars . Will report back with my experience.
