Front retractable seat belt options

Recently purchased a 67 convertible with bucket seats and non-retractable belts. Currently leaning towards installing 2-point retractable and trying to minimize expense while getting a DOT approved belt.

Aside from the obvious retractable lap belts from Ricks, Camaro Central, etc. that are specifically designed for first gen Camaros, has anyone found other brand or universal retractable belts that fit and work? I know that brackets are likely needed due to the outward belt mounting locations and found the ones at the link below. The same vendor also sell brackets, and based on the measurements they gave me, looks like they will fit.

Wanted to know if anyone (1) has used this belt or (2) found something similar to the above link that they know will fit and work (even with a little modding, which I'm wiling to do).

PS: My car is not all original, and not trying to return it to that state. Fully aware of the "you get what you pay for" and "you can't put a price on safety" type statements, so please save them. I won't be driving this car much or long distances.

Re: Front retractable seat belt options

I forget where I got mine but I had to modify/trim the "shell" around the retraction mechanism because of non-stock seats. I'm sure it was one of the outlets you mentioned. Works great

Re: Front retractable seat belt options

The ebay $ is cheap so not much loss if you can't make them "work". Looks like the buckle connection would be on your R hip (drivers side seat)...may be somewhat "awkward" to connect while sitting

While more $, I got the OER ones which are plug & play for install & function with buckle being mid lap position

Why not get the belt retractors?

Re: Front retractable seat belt options

Thought about the retractors, but not sure I like the look or the way they function.

Found these (link below) that meet safety specs, look like good repros (and match my rear belts), and are less than what appear to be the same seat belts sold elsewhere.

One feature I wanted was for the buckle sides to be in a plastic sleeve, but those are relatively inexpensive, and I can buy them separately.

Re: Front retractable seat belt options

These are the "deluxe" interior ones I got with the Fisher logo. IIRC Standard trim has the GM logo on the buckle

These are a direct replacement
