69 Camaro driver seat won't fold down?

The lever on the back of my 69 Camaro driver seat doesn't work, I am unable to fold down the seat so I can let passengers in the back.
Any step by step instruction how I can go about fixing this?

be easier to work on if you remove the seat. The release lever may be stuck on something or broken so once seat is out remove the screws and look

Unless they are kids they don't belong in the back seat of a moving Early Camaro.

There should be a small screw on the lever to remove it and the hard plastic backing should lift up and pop off. If you have headrests you may have to lift that up out of the way, or slide it all the way out. You may be able to get to it from the passenger side, but completely removing the seat may be easier.

Not going to pop off because the seat back is retained by two screws on the bottom.

Yes!! I remembered those after I posted, and I was going to update, but got distracted! (Something shiny!)
