I am trying to find information on the torque converter used in the hi po auto trans used in the 427 COPO Camaro and L88 and L71 1969 Corvette. I have read that it used 6 bolts instead of 3 to attach it to flex plate. I have found info on the trans like special welded parts and high shift point but cannot fine the factory stall speed RPM for the torque converter. Also looking for a part number for it. Anyone know it? thanks

I have one of the 6 bolt converters and TH400 that came in my ZL-1 clone. I would guess the stall to be in the 2000-2200 rpm range. It's loose enough to let the ZL-1 cam (or something close to it) idle in gear without problems. It's not a real high stall though, but definitely looser than stock.

GM rated it at 2200. Mine starts to just turn the wheels at exactly 2200.
