I just changed over from manual to power brakes on my 69 Camaro. The new brakes stop the car OK, but the pedal goes down about 2-3 inches. I took the car to a shop an they said the new booster could be bad. Is there a way to test it or do I just have to buy another one.

Try posting this in the Brakes and Suspension forum. You may get more of a response over there. Just scroll down the Tech home page to find it.

the way to check a booster is by unplug the vacuum line, pump the brakes a few times and see if the pedal feels rock hard, plug the vacuum line back in, if it feels like it softened up, booster is fine.
the hight of the pedal is controlled by the adjustment of the rar brakes.
