Question

I ran across a "project" the other day that claims to be a 1969 rs/ss. I got the info from an other thread about what makes a ss but what should I look for on the rs side. I have no experiance with these cars so any info would be helpfull. I am looking at it again to day so will have more info later. It has new frt fenders,Cowl induction hood and rear 1/4s (the ones with sail pannel). I think I can get it for 1000.00. Is that a pretty good price? No engine or tranny and I think parts are missing from the hideaway headlights and inter.

Does the rear lower panel (below the bumper) have two stamped openings (die-stamped, not cut out) for the RS backup lights?

I just got back from loking at the camaro. No way it is a ss. The emblems say rs( not on the car in a box). The new body parts GM from 8 years ago . They where tacked on(1/4s) or bolted on but never saw any bondo or paint. Still in the black primer. Door panels on bad shape hide away headlights have parts missing or rusted apart.Power discs 10 bolt rear 4 speed set up. Its on the edge of being a parts car or a project.floors and trunk has holes in them. I still think it is worth the 1000.00 even if it was not a rs. Do you agree or disagree?

If those are real GM full quarters on it then it's worth $1000 for them alone. For $1000, I'd probably buy it and put in the garage until I had a game plan for it. But I don't have $1000.
