i just bought an 82 Z28. the car itself is good besides the fact it needs some interior work. it's a special ordered 305 under the hood and it has a edelbrock 650 performer on top of an edelbrock intake manifold. every time i gun it from stop, it bogs brifly then hauls tale all the way down the street. how do i correct this bog?

check the timing, if that doesnt correct the problem adjust the fuel mixture, if that doesnt work, maybe the car was sitting for a while and the gas is bad. Try adding a fuel additive to clean everything out! Good luck

Sounds to me like your Accelerator pump isn't working correctly. Take the air cleaner off and manually work the throttle while looking down the carb. You should see gas squirt from a couple nozzles. If they are not squirting you will have a Bog until the engine vacumn pulls gas from the carb.
