I have a 69z28rs Iam going to put a 700r4 I already have it built. I need to know were I can get the shifter with the right patteren or do I modify the shifter I already have. Also will this trans work with the 400 crossmember I have. And do I need any special shifter brackets to get the shifter to work with cable that i have any other comments are welcome thanks Robert

Contact www.shiftworks.com for a kit to use original automatic shifter. Your TH-400 x-member will need to be modified to work. You will also need A t.v. cale and adapter to your carb. Also needed is a kit to lock-up your torque converter. Your driveshaft will need to be shortened as well. You might want to check out www.bowtieoverdrives.com for more info.

You've been given some good resources to draw from but your conversion from a 4 speed is going to be more intailed than someone converting from an existing auto vehicle. You will also find your 302 engine isn't going to like the automatic very well. You may find it to be quite a dog on the street...
