I have to replace the heater core on my 80 z28. the air doesn't work (partialy removed) my question is can I remove the big a/c box and change it to a heater box for a non air one? what eles must be changed? The air doesn't work anyways and its a real pain to change header gaskets, heater cores, ect...thanks!

I looked into this in the past on my 73. It seemed that it wasn't a direct swap of boxes cause of the location of the hole in the firewall. I compared at the junkyard and they were in different place on cars with and without a/c. My car had a/c so I ended up cutting the box down and fiberglassing it in to make a heater box. It looks and works great. Try it out.
